Carina Otte

Lecturer in Dance Science

Carina studied dance at Steps on Broadway in New York City (USA), at the Hochschule für Musik und Tanz Köln/Zentrum für Zeitgenössischen Tanz, and at the Amsterdam School of Arts/De Theaterschool in the Netherlands. She graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Dance.
She completed yoga training at the Institut für Yoga und Gesundheit Köln and also earned a Master’s degree in Choreography from the Hochschule für Schauspielkunst “Ernst Busch”/Hochschulübergreifendes Zentrum Tanz Berlin, as well as a Master’s degree in Dance Studies from the FU Berlin.

She works as a dancer/performer, choreographer, dance educator, and dance scholar.
She teaches ballet, contemporary dance, yoga, and dance studies, and is also involved in dance-based integration projects and TanzInSchulen initiatives.

About the Dance Studies Course:

The Dance Studies course combines dance history and dance analysis. Through their knowledge of (inter)national dance developments, students also gain the ability to apply this knowledge theoretically and practically within the contemporary context of their technical and artistic dance practice.
