Balance 1 Ballet & Dance School is thrilled to announce the official launch of our brand-new dance classes starting this October [INDEX_0.1.1]! We are dedicated to fostering a deep love for movement, rhythm, and creativity in children and teenagers. Whether you are looking for foundational pre-ballet for younger kids, classical ballet training, or dynamic jazz and modern/contemporary dance classes for teens—young talents will find an inspiring and professional home here.

Our beautifully modernized dance conservatory is located in Berlin-Tempelhof, just a short walk from the Kaiserin-Augusta-Straße and Ullsteinstraße subway stations (U6), right near the vibrant Tempelhofer Hafen. This ideal location makes our studios easily accessible within minutes from neighboring districts such as Mariendorf, Schöneberg, Kreuzberg, and beyond.

These high-quality courses are proudly presented by the renowned Balance 1 Academy. By opening the specialized Ballet & Dance School, our professional academy brings its former, legendary community studio space back to life. We are completely transforming the facilities of our historic dance villa to nurture and support the next generation of young dancers in a safe, elite, and supportive environment.

This is the absolute best opportunity to explore our breathtaking studios, feel the unique historic atmosphere of Villa Balance, and meet or dance with our exceptional team of professional dance educators before the new classes begin.

Kids Ballet, Tweens and Teens 7 years and up

Our ballet classes for children ages 7 and up offer a structured introduction to the world of classical dance. The focus is on teaching the fundamentals of ballet in an age-appropriate manner, guiding children step by step through the technique, posture, and movements of classical ballet. The curriculum is based on the fundamentals of classical ballet training and is adapted to the children’s respective ages and developmental levels.

Ballet classes for 7-10 years
Tuesdays, 4:00 - 5:00 p.m.
Thursdays, 4:00 - 5:00 p.m.

Ballet classes for 11-14 years
Tuesdays, 5:00 - 6:00 p.m.
Thursdays. 5:00 - 6:00 p.m.

Ballet Teenager, Twens from 15 years and up

Our ballet classes for teenagers are designed for young dancers who want to specifically develop their dance skills and deepen their passion for theatre dance. The fundamentals of classical ballet are systematically built up and expanded according to each student’s individual level of proficiency. Posture, strength, flexibility, coordination, and musicality are taught in a motivating and supportive learning environment. At our Academy, ballet is taught according to the Vaganova method to better prepare teenagers who may be considering a professional career in dance for entrance exams.

Ballet for Teenager
Wednesdays: 1, 6:15 - 7:15 p.m.
Fridays, 6:15 - 7:15 p.m.
Ballet / pointe work 7:15 - 7:45 Uhr (Pointe work is only permitted if you attend ballet classes twice a week and have consulted with the ballet teachers beforehand.).

Kids Jazz Dance Tweens, Pre-Teens and Teens 7 years and up

In this jazz dance class, Pre-teens and younger Teens can have fun while developing their physical and dance skills. Through jazz dance techniques, rhythmic movement sequences, jumps, and turns, as well as performance elements, they learn to present themselves with confidence and joy.

7-10 years:
Fridays, 4:00 - 5:00 p.m.
11-14 years:
Fridays, 5:00 - 6:00 p.m.

Jazz Dance Teenager, Twens, young adults 15 years and up

In class, the students learn the basics and techniques of jazz dance, including coordination, body tension, flexibility, jumping technique, turns, and a sense of rhythm. The program focuses not only on developing dance skills but also on fostering dynamism, expressiveness, musicality, and stage presence.

Thursdays, 6:15 - 7:45 p.m.

Modern Dance Tweens and Teens 7 years and up

The modern dance class opens up new possibilities for movement for children ages 10 and up and fosters creativity, self-expression, and body awareness—an ideal foundation for further development in dance and an inspiring introduction to the vast world of theatre dance.

7-10 years:
Wednesdays, 4:00 - 5:00 p.m.
11-14 years:
Wednesdays, 5:00 - 6:00 p.m.

Modern Dance Teenager and Twens 15 years and up

The modern dance class combines elements from various modern dance techniques, classical dance, and a wide range of contemporary movement techniques.

Tuesdays, 6:15 - 7:45 Uhr

Dance classes fees per month

The dance classes are offered on a contract basis.

1x 60 minutes 50,- Euro
2x 60 minutes 85,- Euro
3x 60 minutes 130,- Euro

1x 90 minutes 60,- Euro
2x 90 minutes 102,- Euro

A flat rate can be arranged for more than 4 classes per week.

Public Performances

Children, teenagers, young adults - regardless of age- want to be able to showcase the skills they’ve learned in public.
That’s why annual performances for all age groups and classes are a regular part of our schedule!

Dance Studio Balance 1 Berlin Location

Dance Studio Balance 1 Berlin is located in southern Berlin near Tempelhofer Hafen (harbour of Tempelhof) and is easily accessible via bus 170 (Colditzstr./Ordensmeisterstraße) and the U6 subway (Kaiserin-Augusta-Straße or Ullsteinstraße). Bicycle racks are located in front of the main entrance to Villa Balance. With the reopening of the dance studio, our former BalanceDanStudiOne is being brought back to life after the ballet studios and facilities of the dance villa underwent extensive renovation and expansion over many years. Today, Villa Balance is home to some of the most beautiful dance studios in Berlin!

Balance 1 Ballet & Dance School Open Day

Since we are currently unable to offer trial lessons, we offer an open house so that everyone can get to know our beautiful Academy, feel the atmosphere here, and, of course, meet and dance with our dance teachers.
This event will take place on Saturday, September 19, 2026.
If you are interested, please pre-register by email (link below), indicating the age and the course you are interested in, so that we can plan the day optimally for everyone.

3:40–4:00 PM: Ballet (ages 7–10)
4:00–4:20 PM: Modern (ages 7–10) and Jazz (ages 11–14)
4:20–4:40 PM: Ballet (ages 11–14) and Jazz (ages 7–10)
4:40–5:00 PM: Modern (ages 11–14) and Jazz (ages 15 and up)
5:15–5:35 PM: Ballet (ages 15 and up)
5:40–6:00 PM: Modern (ages 15 and up)

If you don’t have dancewear yet, please bring form-fitting athletic clothing, such as a swimsuit. For ballet and jazz, you can practice in socks, and for modern dance, you can practice barefoot. Hair should be tied back (a ponytail is fine for this day).
